Project Summery

Tong High School, Titus Salt School – formerly Salt Grammar – and Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College now have eye-catching buildings equipped with state-of-the-art technology which will revolutionise learning for students and the local community.

With support and involvement from Kingspan, CLM successfully completed the light weight structural framing system to the external envelope of the building incorporating numerous façades including masonry, vented rain screens and self coloured renders.

Tong High School was a new, large multicultural school and specialist sports college in Bradford built as part of the government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. This was one of three new schools in the Bradford area to be built under the first phase of a BSF Pathfinder scheme by Educo (a joint venture between Costain and Ferrovial Agroman) on behalf of the Bradford Local Education Partnership. The school was built as an integrated three-storey triangle around a central ‘court’ with a transparent roof.

Internal fit out as originally programmed

CLM worked closely with Kingspan developing the design, ensuring a simplistic and cost effective build, yet performing beyond the design criteria required. Due to the proactive approach taken by CLM, the project was fast tracked and brought back on programme, enabling the commencement of the internal fit out as originally programmed.
